Type I or "Juvenile Onset" Diabetes is inborn and leads to the
loss of most or all insulin production by the pancreas in the person's
childhood.
Type II diabetes, by contrast, typically affects people in adulthood
and develops at least partly due to lifestyle factors. Type II or
"Adult Onset" Diabetes is the most common form of diabetes, accounting
for approximately 90% of all diabetic cases.
All diabetic conditions are characterized by chronically high blood
sugar levels, leading over time to extensive damage to the vascular
system including the heart and kidneys and to loss of sensitivity
and functions in the extremities. Over time, high blood sugar can
lead to heart problems, kidney problems, stroke, blindess, impotence
, loss of circulation in the fingers and toes, development of gangrene
and amputations.
Sucanon is effective for reducing the symptoms of Type II Diabetes.
